Fall has arrived, and with it 12 interns and 250 students!

Obeying Jesus from the humble understanding that we are His servants is a very important biblical principle for every believer to live by. A healthy fear of the Lord leads to dutiful obedience in spite of how we may feel in the moment. But if there’s anything we’ve learned in our walk with God, it is that a lover of God will almost always outwork a worker.

I (Tim) thought of this again as I sat across from a young missionary to the Middle East who came to IHOPKC for a season of training and growing in prayer (we’ll call him J). With tears in his eyes, J told me he realized that God had brought him through the internship simply to learn how to live a sustainable life of missions from the place of confidence in God’s love for him as a son of God. It was a story that Rebecca and I have heard many times now. J has served in some of the most difficult places on the planet with great sacrifice but without the friendship with God as described in John 15. As he shared the vision for his work from a deeper relationship with the Lord, his tone carried new hope and excitement. We are so excited to see him return to the Middle East equipped with the revelation of God’s love!

We have been reunited with our sweet dog Luna! She had to be left in Texas when we first came to Kansas City and we are finally in a housing position that allowed her to come up four years later. Many thanks to Ken and Janet Merrifield for watching her these past years. The kids absolutely love her and she is getting plenty of attention.

The school year has started which means our Fall internship at IHOPKC has started with 12 more amazing interns. It also means nearly 250 kids are being reached with the gospel in the local elementary schools through our work with Minding the Gap. Would you agree with us in prayer for two things? First, that these 12 interns would be drawn into a life of dedicated missions. Second, that 5 kids and 2 adults would be saved in Ervin Elementary who would multiply in the same way that the loaves and fish were multiplied when Jesus fed the five thousand.

Lastly, keep an eye out for our End of the Year video testimonies and teachings. We’ll start sending them to emails around Thanksgiving. We are so incredibly grateful for you!
